June 9, 2026
At Feeds’n Needs, our customers, communities, and teams are at the heart of every decision we make. This is why we would like to share these updates with transparency, care, and respect for the people they impact. Effective today, June 9, our Shediac store will be closing. We are incredibly grateful to our Shediac customers for their loyalty and support, and to our team members who have served the community with dedication and care.
To continue supporting our Shediac customers, our Moncton store at 1916 Mountain Road (506-382-1190) and Amherst store at 147 S Albion Street (902-661-0717) are ready to assist with the same trusted products, service, and expertise customers expect from Feeds’n Needs.
This decision is specific to the Shediac location and allows us to better serve customers through nearby stores while continuing to invest in the long-term strength of our retail network.

Looking Ahead
We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you at our other 14 locations. Later this year, Feeds’n Needs will also introduce online shopping, offering another convenient way to shop with us.
Investing in Our Future
At the same time, we are making meaningful investments across our business to better meet customer needs and enhance the in-store experience in our communities:
- Moncton – This July, we’re excited to introduce a Groom’n Zoom, a new grooming centre at our Moncton store, adding another service designed to better support our customers and their pets.
- Woodstock – This August, our Woodstock store will expand into the neighbouring space, creating more room for products, services, and an improved shopping experience.
- Antigonish – This fall, our Antigonish store will relocate, moving into a space three times larger. The new location will allow us to better serve customers and introduce new services, including a brand-new Splash’n Dash dog wash.
- Online Shopping – By the end of the year, our website will offer e-commerce, providing customers with a convenient new way to shop at Feeds’n Needs.
Together, these updates reflect our commitment to evolving with our customers’ needs while continuing to deliver the trusted products, service, and expertise our communities and pets have relied on since 1937. We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing more details as these updates roll out.

About Feeds’n Needs
Feeds’n Needs is premier animal feed and supply retail division of Shur-Gain/Trouw Nutrition, a company that is well known for its constant efforts in understanding how to optimize animal nutrition and health. Before our stores existed, all this knowledge was only accessible to the wholesale market. In the early years, Shur-Gain had four main feed production plants in the Maritimes, with small retail spaces within, carrying essential animal health and farm maintenance products. With so much growth in the industry, came more opportunities to take our passion for animal well-being to the next level and expand our retail locations: making our expertise available to not only animal owners, but pet lovers like you and us!
Feeds’n Needs proudly operates 14 stores across the Maritimes and is a place where you are free to ask for advice while sharing a warm shopping experience. Our 120+ experienced retail staff members are carefully selected (only real pet lovers are hired!) and thoroughly trained to offer you the best expertise through friendly, personalized, and courteous customer service.
At Feeds’n Needs, our staff understands that all pets are different and require different needs. To ensure animal well-being and a great shopping experience, we carry over 20,000 products, spanning across multiple categories (farm, wild bird, to home decor & so much in between) to ensure our customers are equipped with the supplies they need. Not to mention, our Shur-Gain livestock feed and Lifetime petfood is proudly made right here in Canada.
