Retail Sales Associate (Full Time) for Fall 2024

Feeds’n Needs is premier animal feed and supply retail division of Shur-Gain/Trouw Nutrition, a company that is well known for its constant efforts in understanding how to optimize animal nutrition and health. Feeds’n Needs now proudly operates 14 corporate stores across the Maritimes and is a place where you are free to ask for advice while sharing an engaging shopping experience. Our 100+ experienced retail team members are carefully selected (only real pet lovers are hired!) and thoroughly trained to offer our customers the best experience through friendly, personalized, and courteous customer service.

 

Retail Sales Associate Position Overview:

Please note, interviews will begin in the Fall 2024.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Driven to provide exceptional customer service.
• Ability to talk to customers, answer questions and seek out information when needed.
• Ability to take direction and strong listening skills.
• Answer phone and operate POS system and daily cash balancing.
• Daily housekeeping – clean, tidy up and ensure the store looks it’s best indoors & out.
• Uphold visual merchandizing standards and restock merchandise as needed.
• Warehouse – initial slips with LOT numbers.
• Re-bag product.
• Assist in creating appealing displays of merchandise.
• Order and receive merchandise.
• Count inventory.
• Ability to direct new staff on store standards and procedures as needed.

 

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and strong listening skills.
• Ability to frequently lift/carry over 25 kg (55lbs) is required.
• Forklift training is considered an asset, but not required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently & within a team as required.
• Available to work day, evening & weekend shifts.
